I did not know it at the time, but I started my passion for design when I was a little girl living in Colombia. Fashion shows and designing clothes for my dolls grew into a party every Friday for my friends. My creations always won first place. Maybe it was because my father bought cake and ice cream for all the other girls, but I like to think it was my gift. At the age of seven, I asked for and received a sewing machine for Christmas. My dream was born.
I received formal training in Textiles and Fashion Design in my native Bogota, Colombia, where I was known as a "Weaver of Dreams" - Tejedora de Suenos-.
My work updates the traditional techniques of weaving, sewing, knitting, crochet, and macrame and blends them together to create clothing. I use natural dyes and fibers, earth color threads, and unusual hand - knotted trim to win the attention of my customers. Cake and ice cream no longer win the day.
Now, you will find me in Art and Craft Shows from New England to Florida, the West, and the Midwest. I am so grateful for the support of my customers who inspire me and buy my wearable art over and over. I am truly blessed.
